My approach to pottery is simple, yet elegant combining both classic and contemporary forms with stamped, slipped, and textured decoration to enliven the surface. Most of my pottery is functional and I take great pride in the fact that with simple care, you can enjoy your purchase for generations to come. I formulate my own glazes, which are fired at 2220 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes the pottery usable as well as microwaveable and dishwasher safe.
No two of my pots are exactly alike. This makes them like cousins, you know, that are all from the same family, but each one has its own subtle differences that make them special. I enjoy ceramics so much because it is such an expressive medium; I feel that I would never have to repeat myself in clay, if I didn't want to. For this medium and me, I see no end in sight. I want to be like one of the old potters that I have always read about. I will work in my studio until the day I die, not because I have to, because I want to.
