This beautiful publication celebrates 10 years of the Glass Pavilion.
The Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion opened in 2006 to the high praise of architectural critics and museumgoers alike. Tokyo-based architectural firm SANAA, with principal architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, designed the stunning glass-walled building, their first in the United States. Published on the occasion of the Glass Pavilion’s 10th anniversary, this beautifully illustrated book examines the architecture of the innovative building, its development, its significance, and its legacy; and the use of the building as museum, as artmaking space, and as community resource. With informative essays by art and architecture historian Richard H. Putney, who was on the architect selection committee for the Glass Pavilion; architect and Bowling Green State University professor Katerina Rüedi Ray; and Toledo Museum of Art curator of glass and decorative arts Jutta-Annette Page. Published by the Toledo Museum of Art, 2016.
