Shawne W. Camp
My stone sculptures are a representation of life experiences, nature and are often influenced by the desert southwest. Working in multiple stone types such as marble, alabaster, onyx and limestone using hammer, chisel and the occasional power tool, my work is known for its combination of flowing lines, shapes, curves and texture. Sometimes my vision for the sculpture is clear when I first look at a stone, but other times the stone leads me and the sculpture emerges as I go. I have been continuously exploring new techniques, tools and stone types in my sculptures throughout my career.
