Six of the Indian manuscript pages in the Toledo collection, dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, were acquired in the 1920s by the Museum's first director, George W. Stevens, a noted bibliophile, or given in his memory. The seventh page is a new acquisition, a 17th-century painting attributed to the Rajasthani painter Manohar that depicts scenes form the childhood of Krishna. This book was published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same title held August 22-November 30, 2003.
