Reliquary Series
Inspired by historical reliquaries, these glass vessels serve as transparent sanctuaries for overlooked elements of nature. Each clear blown form preserves an animal or object chosen with intention, pairing materials that resonate with one another. By placing these fragile remnants in perpetual view, the series invites reverence for the often-forgotten and elevates the natural world to a place of quiet significance.

Misha Nalepa is a Toledo-based artist whose practice bridges glass and metal. Trained in sculpture at the Columbus College of Art & Design, he now serves as Lead Glass Studio Artist at the Toledo Museum of Art. His glasswork centers on form, function, and a continual pursuit of new techniques, while his electroformed jewelry transforms natural materials-such as bone and taxidermied elements-into preserved, wearable objects. Through both mediums, Nalepa explores craftsmanship, material memory, and the intimate connection between object and wearer.
