Leslie Patron
Leslie's blown glass study began in 1998 as a curiosity and has become a personal, passionate challenge. She continues to study with Albert Young at the Michigan Hot Glass Workshop in Detroit and maintains a studio at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit.
In addition to working in glass, Leslie is an internationally successful product, art glass, sculpture, and lifestyle photographer. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communications Technology, Majoring in Photography, from Bowling Green State University in 1984. Her award-winning work is currently represented in National and International Publications, and in several private collections.
Artist Statement
Glass is a comprehensive study for me. Everything about it is a challenge: the technical, the physical and the conceptual. Whenever I think I've "got it," the door to the next challenge is right there. The possibilities seem to be endless. This molten substance has a way of revealing personal, relevant issues when I'm working, and has become a great tool for expression.
