Lauren Eastman Fowler's sculptures explore complex natural forms. Born in Ohio and raised throughout the Midwestern U.S., Lauren earned her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a collegiate teaching certificate from Brown University in 2006. She earned her BFA from Bowling Green State University in 2003. She has dedicated her life to art and art education, having taught for over thirteen years at the Rhode Island School of Design and Lake Forest Academy. Lauren has earned several awards and grants for her work and her teaching. Lauren currently resides in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Lauren explores intricate natural forms in glass, drawing influence from her family's rich history of makers. She incorporates the simple, repetitive patterns of her grandparents prized Dahlias into her elaborate vessel structures. Lauren is constantly experimenting with new and innovative techniques to push the scale and complexity of her work.
