Ancient Egyptian art has been integral to the Toledo Museum of Art’s collection since its earliest days, when Museum founders Edward Drummond Libbey and Florence Scott Libbey brought eleven crates of artifacts back to Toledo from Cairo in 1906. Despite that long history, this is the first time a survey of the Museum’s important Egyptian collection has been published. Features an informative essay on Egyptian art and culture by William H.
