"Perihelion"

All heavenly bodies orbit in a circle or ellipse around a star. When the Earth is closest to its star (our Sun), it is said to be at perihelion. In Perihelion the disk surrounding the figure is my metaphor for that term. Astronomers of the 16th century were able to calculate the variance of the earths’s orbit with surprising accuracy without the aid of computers.
