Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings, Prints and Drawings
The Toledo Museum of Art continues to honor the American Studio Glass Movement with limited edition series such as this. Coinciding with the Toledo Museum of Art’s exhibition Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings, Prints and Drawings, these artist inspired works of hand blown glass were created by our team of studio artists in the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion® hot shop. Showcasing a bright and brilliant array of color, each piece is intricately handcrafted. These limited edition items are only offered through the Toledo Museum of Art Museum Store throughout the duration of the exhibition. Your purchase helps support the Toledo Museum of Art, a private non-profit organization.
Opened in 2006, the postmodern Glass Pavilion is home to TMA’s world-renowned glass collection, featuring more than 5,000 works of art from ancient to contemporary times. The 74,000-square-foot building also includes galleries for special glass exhibitions, artist studios, demonstration areas, and spaces for education, visitor relaxation, and special events. The Glass Pavilion is—in itself—a work of art. All exterior and nearly all interior walls consist of large panels of curved glass, resulting in a transparent structure that blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. Designed by Tokyo-based SANAA, Ltd., the Glass Pavilion received Travel + Leisure’s 2007 Design Award for “Best Museum” and received other accolades for its innovative architecture.
