Faesthetic 14: Play Time
Curator, editor, publisher: Dustin Hostetler

Arts magazine Faesthetic (the title is a play on “fast aesthetic”) is the brainchild of local artist, community leader, and Toledo Museum of Art supporter Dustin Hostetler. Since its inception in 2001, Faesthetic has grown from a photocopied zine into a high-quality arts magazine with international participation and readership. The artists are provided compelling themes and the challenges of a limited color palette, creating unexpected results. Hostetler partnered with the Toledo Museum of Art to produce Faesthetic 14, with the theme of “Play Time” in conjunction with the Museum’s contemporary art show of the same name (May 22–September 6, 2015). Features works by more than 40 artists, including Andrew Abbott, Michelle Duni, Stephen Eichhorn, Sarah Haug, Matthew Hoffman, Torie Leigh, Jose Mertz, and Dieter Van der Ougstraete.
