"Wagara, Lattice Floral"
2024
Material: Blown Glass, Inlayed Enamel.
24" Height x 7" Diameter.
Crafted with meticulous care, the contours of the blown glass form exude a sense of modernity, while the inlayed enamel adorning its surface evokes the timeless aesthetic of Japanese lattice and floral patterns. Each intricate detail speaks to the skill in marrying imagery and form into a seamless whole, inviting contemplation.
Wagara Series
Inspired by Wagara, or traditional Japanese designs, Iwamura's works incorporate patterns dating back to the 8th century. Inspired by nature and crafted by hand, each piece displays a distinct motif and its unique symbology. Inlayed vitreous enamels are applied as Intricate patterns resting tranquilly against Iwamura's blown glass forms.
